I’d rather not be pris’ner to the ground
for in the sea I find my dreams come true.
The feel of gravity so tightly bound;
against all odds we took a dive, and flew.
That’s where you’ll find me, in the depth of sea.
Among the wispy shades of blue and green.
I’m here to think and not to speak; I’m free.
The most beautiful peace I’ve truly seen.
And I will spend all my time day by day,
In a lake or river, even a spring,
perhaps a house overlooking the bay.
The happiness nat’ral beauty can bring.
Sunrise or sunset; in dreams or my mind,
I’ll be one with the sea; love hard to find.
This is an old sonnet that I wrote in 2010. Not much has changed, I’m still in love with the Sea, and somehow that brought me to Duluth, MN.
